Deep, mind-bending psych. I don't know how it was put together, but it feels very organic, like early Nurse With Wound. I could see Gordon, Dilloway, and Nace sitting among a pile of junk and miles of tape, splicing together this album piece by piece. Levrikon

This is the kind of guitar work that made me fall in love with Sonic Youth in the first place. Not the polished angsty Television inspired guitar dueling of their later years and not the aggressively atonal finger-bleeding frenzy of their late ‘80s/‘90s output but their gnarly, Captain Beefheart-esque early material. This is like something sinister emerging from primordial ooze, confused and scared and angry. This is noise…glorious, hideous, eardrum-shattering NOISE. Kirk Gauthier
